Welcome to 423 Hope

The founders know first-hand what it means to suffer from alcoholism and drug addiction. Their lifes’ journey through the challenges of addiction led to finding hope in recovery and a heart for service to others. Both enjoyed the tremendous advantage of having a supportive family to help them through, but not everyone is so fortunate. So many people who are released from incarceration, treatment, or other facilities have no healthy alternatives. They may be homeless, have families in active addiction, or otherwise no healthy place to go. Halfway and other transitional houses are full and have long waiting lists. Achieving gainful employment for a person with an addiction history, with a salary that can afford the current cost of living, is a chasm seemingly impossible to cross, which leads to relapse and recidivism.

Drug and alcohol addiction continue to plague the world around us, affecting all those whose lives touch the sufferer’s. Millions of individuals, families, friends, employers, and society-at-large bear the brunt of its insidious nature. According to the 2021 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH):

  • 28.6 million adults ages 18 and older had Alcohol Use Disorder in the past year
  • 22.3 million adults ages 18 and older had Drug Use Disorder in the past year

Professionals within the recovery community consistently share that treatment centers are full and have long waiting lists. Jails and other institutions release countless numbers of people back into society every day who have no gainful employment, support structure, or safe and affordable place to call home.

423 Hope stands in the gap as a beacon of hope, providing affordable housing and support services for men in recovery. Men become like family to one another, with help from people who know what it means to trudge the road of addiction AND FIND A WAY OUT, reducing relapse and recidivism. The transformed life is an unstoppable force for good, and 423 Hope is just that, a community of transformed lives charging through the storm together.
